Epoch Elder Care is an elder-care organisation offering assisted living, dementia care, rehabilitation, palliative care, and other specialised care services.
I work on their existing Laravel application, taking responsibility for code refactoring, new feature development, production management, email infrastructure, landing pages, and automated lead reporting.

The application was originally developed by another agency and contained legacy code that was difficult to maintain and extend.
Since the application was already running in production, the challenge was to improve and extend it without disrupting existing functionality.
There was also a need to improve email delivery, maintain independently developed landing pages, and automate the process of collecting and distributing leads.
I took over the existing Laravel codebase and progressively improved it instead of introducing a complete rewrite.
The work involved refactoring legacy code, implementing SMTP-based email functionality, integrating Laravel with standalone landing pages, and building an automated monthly lead-reporting workflow.
I also manage the application's AWS EC2 production environment and handle production issues whenever they arise.
I manage the application's production environment hosted on AWS EC2, including deployments, troubleshooting, and resolving application or server-level production issues.
Implemented SMTP-based email delivery using Laravel's mail functionality for reliable application-generated emails.
Maintained standalone marketing landing pages located in the public directory and bootstrapped Laravel from these pages where backend functionality such as mail processing was required.
Built an automated reporting workflow that processes leads generated through the landing pages, generates reports, and sends them to the respective users automatically on the 2nd of every month.
My responsibilities include:
The existing Laravel application became easier to maintain and extend while continuing to operate in production.
The new email and reporting workflows reduced manual work for the client's team, while AWS EC2 management and ongoing maintenance provide the client with a single technical owner for both the application and its production environment.
This project demonstrates my experience in taking over and maintaining an existing Laravel application, rather than only building applications from scratch.
It combines legacy code refactoring, production management, AWS infrastructure, third-party integration, and business-process automation in a live production environment.
